Bad hair day/s

Hair

Today I had a bad hair day. My hair is in the betwix and between stage and this is one of the hardest times when growing your hair. It’s not short but it certainly is not long. What to do, what to do? I know…DON’T CUT IT!!!!!!

We press on to reach the end goal. I bought a good hair dryer but it wasn’t ‘doing the trick’ so I exchanged it for another and by golly, it worked better. How bizarre!I could have been left to have more bhds (bad hair days)if I didn’t exchange the defective hair dryer. Thank goodness

Health issues

abscess, health

How on earth does toothache evolve into an abscess? I’ll tell you how…bacteria. So my husband suggests one of the world’s oldest but best antibiotics,i.e.garlic. My goodness, something in my house? I can hardly believe it! Now when a doctor prescribed antibiotics, I take a probiotic too but should I do the same with the garlic? After all it is a natural antibiotic, right?

Let’s see what tomorrow holds. Cross your fingers, hopefully I don’t wake up with a swollen face…I’ll post a pic if I do…wink wink, nudge nudge

Toothache and other things

Uncategorized

I have toothache today, so I decided to take a break from work to rest a bit. I’m glad I did because a rest from our busy lives is important. It refreshes the mind, soul and body…knitting nevertheless I’m also looking into the effect that coffee/kafeine has on my body. I drink about 3-4 cups a day, which is not too much but coffee is the only liquid I consume, with the occasional IMG_20150719_164117 grapetiser in-between. Water is not a favourite of mine, so I’m trading my 1 cuppa for water or rooibos tea…baby steps

My knitting

knitting

IMG_20150719_164221I love knitting!!!! In fact I think I am addicted to it. It would sound much better if I said it’s a hobby but I’d be lying, if I did. If I don’t have wool to start a garment with, I make my way to the haberdashery shop and get some.

I’d love to say that knitting has taught me patience but alas, it HAS NOT! In fact, I would go as far as saying that it has made me even more impatient than what I already am. A bummer indeed but we move on.

I bought 20 balls of lovely multicoloured wool on Friday, 17 July and started a hooded jersey for myself. On seeing the wool, my son expressed his interest and suckered me into knitting a hooded jersey for him…yes suckered. I am fully aware of the puppy dog look that our children give us when they want something. You should be too!

So…I’ve decided after having short hair for 4 years, to let it grow again and ooooh, this is going to be a task and a half. For now I am excited but I know dark days lie ahead(when I want to return to the boy’s cut)

I’ve had so many different hairstyles over the years because I get bored with them so quickly. I also went grey at the a young age and felt limited in my options but I have since discovered that there are so many things I can do. But let’s face it, it is certainly easier to cut hair than to let it grow, so accompany me on this journey and see how crazy it drives me…I mean, see how inspired I am. Here we go!

Hello world!

new

facebook-20150624-183223This is my very first post. I am very excited because I’ve always wanted to write about my life but thought it to be too vain. Clearly something has changed… I am a mother of 3 who loves trying new things. I work at an educare within one of my local communities and I absolutely adore what I do. I decided to write about the new journey I’ve embarked upon and consequently include everything else in-between. So let’s begin…
